Radar Beacons, otherwise known as RACONs, are devices that reflect radar signals emitted by ships. They are usually placed at key points, such as ports or shipping lanes, to help ships detect positions more accurately. RACONs emit a unique code when receiving radar signals, aiding ship navigation in confined conditions such as fog or nighttime.
